The First Presbyterian Day School seeks to provide a football program for all fifth and sixth grade boys who desire to participate. Currently over one hundred boys are divided into six teams. The fifth grade has three teams and the sixth has three teams. Sportsmanship, fundamentals, and participation are emphasized. Every player participates in each game.

Practices are held at the North Jackson Baseball complex at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays. All games are played on Tuesdays and begin at 5:00 p.m.

 

Basketball

The months of December and January are filled with basketball. Over 180 fifth and sixth grade boys and girls are divided into sixteen teams. The month of December is spent practicing and preparing for games. January is filled with games each day that begin at 2:00 p.m. until 5:30p.m. All students participate an equal amount of time in each game. Sportsmanship and participation is emphasized to prepare players for playing the Junior High level. The school provides coaches.

CheerleadingCheerleading

All fifth and sixth grade girls are invited to participate in cheerleading. Cheerleaders are divided into small groups and cheer at football games. Cheerleader uniforms are rented from the school for a $40 fee. Practices are held immediately after school. Football games are played each Tuesday night in September and October and are held at local Metro area private school.
