November Red Apple Award

Each month, staff members from different areas of FPDS are honored with the “Red Apple Award”. The Red Apple is awarded to staff members that go above and beyond their call of duty!

November’s Red Apple Award Winners are Barbara McCollum (Early Childhood Infant Teacher), Camille Hassell (K5 Assistant Teacher), Sara Moss (Athletic Director) andShanell Ross (3rd Grade Immersion Teacher). Thank you to these incredible ladies - we are so grateful for your love and support of our school and students.

Barbara continues to be such an asset to our Early Childhood program. She is dependable, kind, and such a gift to our families. It is a joy to witness her sharing God's Word with our youngest babies on a daily basis.

She has also been an excellent resource for me as I've navigated this new role as director. She's been so supportive and encouraging, and she always has a positive attitude.

As we introduced Brightwheel to our program this year, she has been such a quick learner. She is great at sharing adorable photos, necessary information, and milestone markers.

- Dea Bowling / Early Childhood Director

Camille is such an asset to our Kindergarten program. She is diligent about teaching and loving her students. She teaches with kindness and understanding making sure these young ones will return these virtues to others.

Camille is always willing to help anyone who asks for her assistance. Her famous words are "Let me do that for you". She is a wonderful servant for the Lord!

 -Kim Duhs / Kindergarten Principal

Shanell Ross is such a gift to our Dyslexia Program, her students, and the families she is serving. Shanell's unique perspective allows her to understand the diverse needs of her students. Her teaching style is innovative and tailored to accommodate various learning styles. She employs creative techniques and alternative approaches that resonate with dyslexic students, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Her students thrive under her guidance, discovering their strengths and capabilities beyond their learning differences. I am so thankful for Shanell and her dedication to FPDS.

-Gigi O’Neal / Assistant Head of School

Great teammate. Tireless worker. Daily encourager. These are the words that describe our athletic director, Sara Brantley. Coach Brantley is one of the few people on our campus who works with every FPDS student and she knows and loves all of them.

Sara has elevated our physical education and athletic programs and is constantly seeking new and innovative ways for our children to learn and to grow. Her enthusiasm and joy are contagious and she makes all of us who are around her each day better.

-Brian T Smith / Head of School
