The Mission of FPDS

I love the mission of FPDS, and I love to see it happening before my eyes.

As a father of FPDS children and as a pastor at FPC Jackson, I get a front row seat to how the school's mission "planting seeds of Christlikeness in the hearts of children," is taking root at my dinner table and in the halls of 1390 North State Street.

I am flooded with joy knowing that FPDS is anchored in truths that don't change: namely its unwavering commitment to the Bible and the Gospel of grace. Additionally, the history and generations of faithfulness, the outstanding quality and warmth of the faculty, the godly character of the leadership, and the intentional care we receive from the school community has made our time at the school a sweet mercy and delight.

The reason that FPDS fits the prayerful vision we have for our children is because we believe the passions and priorities of the teachers will have a profound effect on the passions and priorities of my children. We believe that the tone of the classroom is used by God to have a profound effect on the tone of the hearts of my children, and what the teachers neglect will have a profound effect on whether or not it will be neglected in the hearts of my children.  And we believe what the teachers love and delight in will have a profound effect on what my children love and delight in.

Our prayer is that God would continue to use FPDS to prepare children to enter into the movement of His grace in the world for His glory.
